Fr Armand Pieter De Pauw (see photograph), who was the oldest living Josephite, has died at the age of 90. His funeral service took place in the chapel of H.-Drievuldigheidscollege, the Josephite School in Leuven. This has been a difficult time for the Belgian Region with the recent deaths at College Melle of Frs David and Aloïs.
Fr Francis Owen, also 90 years old, now becomes the oldest living Josephite. Fr Francis lives in England.
England
Third Year students at St George's College, Weybridge have donated 50 footballs for use by Josephite Schools in the DR Congo. The footballs were formally handed over during the "Celebration of Achievement" evening for the Third Year students in the College Chapel. Fr Jacob Beya, the former Regional/Provincial Superior of Africa thanked the boys and stated that these footballs would enhance immeasurably the life of students in Josephite Schools in the DR Congo. Also present were three other African Josephites: Fr Felix who was recently ordained in the College Chapel and Br Armand who have been studying in England and Fr Martin who is studying in Belgium and was over in England for the ordination of Felix.

Another donation of nearly £3,500 (US $7000) was given to Fr Robert to pay for school desks in the Kasai, DR Congo. This money was raised by students in the 1st and 2nd Years at St George’s College as part of their DR Congo Awareness Project.
Africa
The ordination to the diaconate of Emmanuel Tshiyombo Tshiyombo, Modeste Mashimba Ngoie and Jean-Marie Kabeya Mpumbu will take place on 10 August 2008 at Ilebo, DR Congo. Modeste and Jean-Marie who completed their formation studies in June will spend the next twelve months working in the Kasai. Emmanuel is already at Ilebo working in the Parish.
Ambroise Biselele, Willy Mikobi, Michel Nonge, Didier Munsiensi, Barthelemy Bambi, Franklin Minzaki and Quentin Musekedi have been accepted for Final Vows which will take place at Kimwenza on Sunday 12 October 2008.

Eric Nkoko and Roger Mingashanga (see photo) have retuned to Africa after their ‘Année de Stage’ in California.
Felix Nkongolo and Armand Bopda have returned to Africa after completing their course at St Anselm’s Institute.
Willy Mikobi and Fr Martin Tshindaye will continue their studies in Belgium.
Frs Aimée CitengKandolo and Trudon Ntumba Kabata, who are based in The Gabon, attended the recent World Youth Day celebrations in Sydney, Australia.
USA
Following an appeal by Fr. Charles for the African Endowment Fund, parishioners of St Louis de Montfort raised in excess of $20,000 for the fund. Fr Charles was assisted by Eric and Roger.

The first joint retreat of the Josephite Associates and the Associates of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph (DMJs) took place that the DMJs’ Retreat Centre at Palos Verdes.
At present there are 15 Josephite Associates based in the parish of St Louis de Montfort. Having drawn up a Constitution, the Associates are hoping to elect a leadership team for themselves.
The Inter-Regional House

This has been a quiet summer so far at the Inter-Regional House but both Fr Jacob and Fr François have taken up cycling.
