Some Josephite Prayers
Prayer to our Founder, Constant William Van Crombrugghe
Constant William, our founder and spiritual father, we ask you to intercede for us with the God of tenderness and compassion so that we may do His will by becoming ‘Instruments of His Mercy‘. May we also receive new brothers who will help us with the urgent task of Christian education and evangelisation. Finally, we ask you to remain, with Saint Joseph, the guide and protector of the Josephites. Amen.
To the Sacred Heart
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we consecrate ourselves to you. Bless our family, our home and our undertakings. Grant us the grace to fulfil all our duties as well as we can. Give us peace and confidence; console us in our sufferings, and make us love you always more and more. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, may thy kingdom come.
To Saint Joseph
Saint Joseph, I chose you today as my model, my protector, my father. Receive me as one of your privileged children. I will do my best to show myself worthy of you till death. Amen.
Saint Joseph, watch over your children.
Saint Joseph our Model and Protector intercede for us with the Father through your own beloved foster son Jesus. Watch over and protect all those who are dear to us, our family, friends and all those entrusted to our care and love. Guide all parents in the task of helping their children grow in the image and likeness of Jesus. Come to the aid of all those who have asked for our prayers. Pray for us all so that one day we may all live together in our heavenly home Amen
A Prayer used in Josephite Schools
O Lord, give us the wisdom to know ourselves, the humility to accept ourselves as we really are, and the courage and independence to defend what we know to be right. Help us to respect the needs of others, being always ready to dedicate our own talents to their service. Give us the strength to suffer the trials and tensions of life with fortitude, and the vision to see through suffering to the peace which lies beyond. May we, by our tolerance, be a constant support to each other and a source of strength to our families, whom we commend to your care. Amen.
